1. Client Profile

Client: Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India
Implementation Partner: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)
Technology Partner: Taasha Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Program: Startup Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP)
Objective: To develop a scalable enterprise solution that digitally enables the creation, management, and growth of micro and nano enterprises in rural India.

2. Executive Summary

The Startup Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP) is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, designed to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment across rural India.

To support this mission, Taasha Technologies developed SVEP-IT, an enterprise-level digital solution built on a robust, scalable architecture. The platform integrates mobile and web applications to unify stakeholders — from entrepreneurs and mentors to administrators — under a single digital ecosystem.

SVEP-IT leverages Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to overcome barriers in knowledge, finance, and incubation access, creating an end-to-end digital infrastructure for rural enterprise development. It enables real-time data collection, analytics, business planning, and monitoring — even in low-connectivity environments.

3. Challenges

The SVEP initiative presented several ground-level and technological challenges:

  • Inconsistent Connectivity: Many rural blocks had unreliable internet coverage.
  • Digital Literacy Barriers: Majority of users were first-time smartphone or app users.
  • Multilingual Accessibility: Requirement for regional language support across diverse states.
  • Data Quality: Manual data entry introduced inaccuracies requiring validation and cleaning.
  • Offline Operation: The system needed to capture data and sync automatically once online.

Taasha Technologies needed to deliver a secure, high-performance enterprise platform that would remain efficient, intuitive, and accessible in India’s most remote regions.

4. Solution Delivered

Taasha Technologies designed and implemented the SVEP-IT Enterprise Platform — a comprehensive, multi-tier solution that seamlessly connects field operations, program management, and analytics.

Key Solution Components:

  1. Mobile Application (Android):
    • Captures real-time field data
    • Works offline with automated synchronization
    • Provides vernacular interfaces for inclusive accessibility
  2. Web Application:
    • Dashboards and analytics for monitoring enterprise performance
    • Role-based access for different stakeholders (Entrepreneurs, CRP-EPs, Mentors, SRLM/NRLM officials)
    • Modules for MIS, loan management, and enterprise tracking
  3. Knowledge & Advisory Platform:
    • Enables market assessment, opportunity identification, and business planning
    • Supports continuous monitoring and capacity building
  4. Security & Compliance:
    • Enterprise-grade security with Spring Security API, JSON Web Tokens, SSL, and database encryption

This end-to-end enterprise solution ensures that every stakeholder — from government administrators to village entrepreneurs — can collaborate and make data-driven decisions within a unified digital environment.

5. Technology Stack

Frontend: AngularJS, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
Backend: J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate
Mobile: Android Studio
Database: PostgreSQL
Server Environment: Apache Tomcat, Maven
Security: Spring Security, JWT, SSL Encryption

Designed with modular, scalable architecture, SVEP-IT supports continuous uptime, secure transactions, and seamless third-party integration.

6. Implementation Details
